Turnbull’s one of best: Senator McGrath
LIBERAL Senator James McGrath has thrown his full support behind Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, claiming he could be one of the greats.
Following the leadership spill which saw Mr Turnbull become Australia's 29th Prime Minister, Mr McGrath was promoted to Minister Assisting the PM - a role he is grasping with both hands.
Taking a leaf out of his new boss' book, Mr McGrath said there was "no better time" to be an Australian and claimed confidence had been restored in the electorate.
"The voters, in terms of recent polls, have really supported the change," he said.
"Regardless of people's views, they want competent government that can grow the economy and protect borders so they can focus on their own lives."

"Mr Turnbull is going to be one of the best Prime Minister's Australia has ever had," he said.
"People feel confident with Malcolm. He comes from a normal background and was a successful businessman.
"He carries with him a natural calmness and confidence, which people like."
Mr McGrath made a speedy rise through the LNP's ranks, being sworn in as a Senator for Queensland a little more than 15 months ago.
He heads to Canberra today to begin a two-week sitting in the Upper House.
