Turnbull’s one of best: Senator McGrath

LIBERAL Senator James McGrath has thrown his full support behind Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, claiming he could be one of the greats.

Following the leadership spill which saw Mr Turnbull become Australia's 29th Prime Minister, Mr McGrath was promoted to Minister Assisting the PM - a role he is grasping with both hands.

Taking a leaf out of his new boss' book, Mr McGrath said there was "no better time" to be an Australian and claimed confidence had been restored in the electorate.

"The voters, in terms of recent polls, have really supported the change," he said.

"Regardless of people's views, they want competent government that can grow the economy and protect borders so they can focus on their own lives."
