Top skaters to converge on Coolum for Queensland Champs
SKATEBOARDING: The Queensland Championships of Bowl Skating-King of Concrete will be held at Coolum on Saturday, when internationally renowned competitors will battle for $10,000 in cash and prizes.
Renton Millar, a former World Cup champion (Vert, 2009) and former Australian Champion (Bowl, 2012) will be the competition director.
Millar, pictured, is the International Skateboard Federation Representative for Australia and has been a board member of the Victorian Skateboard Association.
He was adjudged one of the top 25 most influential Australian skaters of the past 25 years by Slam Magazine (2014).
Millar said he was excited about the Coolum event and said skateboard enthusiasts should take a look.
"The level of bowl skating is Australia is just going through the roof," he said
"We have so many rad skate parks around Australia and so many good skaters who can really bowl skate amazingly well, so this will be a great spectator event."
About 100 competitors will compete across three divisions at the event.
It is open to all skaters but early entry is encouraged.
