Teen boy and girl robbed at Coast park

Police are investigating after a boy and girl were robbed and assaulted at a Coast park by trio who threatened to pull a knife.

The incident was reported on Monday afternoon after threats were made to the 15-year-old victims at Quota Park in Nambour.

Sunshine Coast Child Protection Investigation Unit officer Detective Senior Sergeant Justin Ward said authorities were looking for three people aged in their mid-to-late teens.

“It was reported as two juvenile victims who were approached by three offenders who demanded property and assaulted them,” Det Sen-Sgt Ward said.

“One of the victims received an injury to the face.

“There was also an allegation that one of the offenders was armed with a knife.”

He described the ordeal as a random incident instead of a known, targeted attack.

“They were not known to each other,” he said.

“Obviously we are quite intensely investigating this and we have called upon members of public to assist and we will take the appropriate course of action.”
