A MORAYFIELD man has been arrested after an alleged stabbing which sparked a chase involving a police helicopter through Logan and the Gold Coast.
The police probe began when another man turned up at Caboolture Hospital early Sunday with stab wounds.
Around 5am, the 34-year-old Beaudesert man was treated for two wounds, one in abdomen and the other his back.
Police were notified and an investigation commenced which culminated in the pursuit of an alleged stolen vehicle and the subsequent arrest of a 35-year-old Morayfield man.
Around 2.35pm officers spotted the alleged stolen vehicle in University Drive, Meadowbrook.
The vehicle failed to stop for police and sped off at speed.
Polair2 tracked the vehicle as it travelled through Logan and the Gold Coast before the vehicle stopped at a service station on Boundary Road, Wacol around 3.55pm with police quickly on-scene and arresting the man without incident.
He has been denied police bail and is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday charged with unlawful wounding.
Police investigations are continuing and further charges are expected.
The 34-year-old victim was taken to a Brisbane Hospital for further treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigations indicates the men, who are known to each other, were involved in an altercation at an address in Woodrose Road, Morayfield early Sunday where the alleged incident occurred.
