Shoes a boost for needy
THIS month, shoppers at Kawana Shoppingworld, will be greeted by a giant collection shoebox for Share My Shoes.
The exciting community initiative will raise funds for The Smith Family’s Learning For Life program - providing educational support to disadvantaged youth.
The Smith Family’s Ambassador, Studio 10 co-host Sarah Harris, urged people to try walking in someone else's shoes and donate a pair of their own.
“It would mean the world to thousands of disadvantaged Australian children and help put them on a better life path through education,” she said.
Kawana Shoppingworld will install the giant shoebox in the Centre Court as a shoe collection point until July 31. Every pair of shoes donated will be re-sold through The Smith Family’s stores.
For those who don’t have a spare pair of shoes to give, or can’t bear the thought of parting with their old favourites, Kawana Shoppingworld will donate $1 to The Smith Family for every shoe picture posted on social media alongside the hashtag #sharemyshoes.
Fun floor murals will be located throughout the centre, providing inspiring backdrops for shoppers to showcase their favourite shoes with friends and family on social media.
