Salvage truck needs rescuing after getting bogged at beach
IN A twist of irony, a salvage truck on its way to a beached yacht became stuck yesterday afternoon in Cannovale Beach, attracting large crowds attempting to rescue the 20 tonne vehicle.
Fighting against the clock, the eight-wheeler's plight was brought to attention through Facebook where hundreds offered support and sympathy.

"Urgent help needed!!! Cannonvale beach the Rescue Truck needs rescuing!!!! Anyone with a serious earth moving truck come on down," Chris Pannan originally posted.
"Do you know anyone with a serious tracker or digger!!!! Otherwise it's going to be a dive site."

"If you have some wood, or branches, try to put them at the base of the wheels," Monika Gabor suggested.
Dave Chittleborough also recommended letting the tyres down.

"Start digging do the old tyre trick then use the rear mounted winch off it, I would also suggest digging under one wheel at a time and pleasing the Ramps don't worry about the front tyres as the tears should pull the front free," Bodean Joe-bob proposed.
Eventually a strap was attached to a digger to try and drag the salvage truck out.

After several attempts, as night fell, the eight-wheeler was finally pulled free.
"Well done everyone... the beast is back !!!" Peter Clarke said at the end.
