The Outsiders CD launch
The Outsiders is the Sunshine Coast's premiere all-abilities band, which is launching its debut EP Inside The Outside at Joe's Waterhole on Sunday, December 18, at 3pm.
This free family-friendly event will see The Outsiders play the six original tracks featured on the EP as well as some favourite covers.
The Outsiders will be joined by Sunny Coast artist MC Wheels.
The band members met four years ago when they enrolled at Nambour TAFE's all-abilities music program, designed to empower people with disability through music.
No one in the group had played in a band or written a song before.
The program was led by Sunshine Coast-based musicians Craig Cole and Michael Cheetham.
Since then, the band has gone from strength to strength and has recently been featured on Triple J Unearthed.
Playing at various venues across the Coast as well as private functions, the band members have come a long way - not only having found their voice through music, but inspiring others to step outside "comfortable” and explore their own potential.
