Premier accuses LNP of cosying up to One Nation

PREMIER Annastacia Palaszczuk has urged voters to deliver her a "working majority" at the looming state election, declaring she cannot have the LNP and One Nation stand in her way.

In a speech to Labor's state conference in Townsville this morning, Ms Palaszczuk claimed underdog status, comparing herself to boxer Jeff Horn before he headed into the fight against Manny Pacquiao.

"The next election will test all of us here," she said.

"Last time, we climbed Mount Everest against all the odds.

"This time, with the LNP cosying up to One Nation, the battle will be just as hard.

"In the next term of parliament I need a working majority. I can't have the LNP or One action standing in my way."

Labor State Secretary Evan Moorhead told the conference Labor needed to win five new seats at the next election to make that working majority a reality.

"We are not in this game to come second," he said.
