Police dog bites man in Aroona arrest

A 23-YEAR-OLD man has been hospitalised after being bitten on the leg by a police dog during an arrest early this morning.

Sunshine Coast district Criminal Investigation Branch officer-in-charge Daren Edwards said police were investigating break-ins to cars which had been occurring over the past week.

The man was arrested in the Aroona area about 4am.

He had to be taken to Nambour General Hospital for treatment of a bite injury to his lower leg.

Detective Senior Sergeant Edwards said a backpack had been seized from the man.
