Musician and singer workshops at jazz event
NAMBOUR Winter Jazz Fest offers an opportunity for musicians to learn from some of the best in the business in this country.
The Galapagos Duck band will be running some workshops for musicians who are interested in the skills of working together as a band, the role of each instrument, the rhythm section, lead instrument and more.
These are all skills that are crucial for musicians but that are not always taught.
Galapagos Duck is highly regarded in Australia and worldwide for musicianship and band members are offering to impart some of their knowledge to the workshop participants.
Not to be left out, singers of all abilities are also offered a workshop during the jazz festival.
You will learn some great techniques, healthy vocalising, harmony, improvisation and circle singing through a fun and friendly morning of joyful gospel tunes.
"The Nambour Winter Jazz Fest will be a fun weekend of music in a small, boutique setting where you can get up close and personal with the artists," organiser Robyn Brown said.
"Having the workshops is an amazing opportunity to not only listen to the artists but also learn from them personally."
The workshops will be held on Sunday, July 31, at 10.30am. More information and bookings can be found at www.nambourwinterjazzfest.com.au or phone Robyn on 0403 152 397
Nambour Winter Jazz Fest will be held on July 30 and 31 at The Bison Bar and C-Square Courtyard.
