Mums welcome to bring kids along to this workout
AS A mother-of-two Carly McQuire knows how hard it is for mums to find the time to get active.
That's why she's started running fitness sessions at The Bod Squad Health & Fitness where mums can bring their young ones.
"I know how hard it is for mums to find the time to train and workout,” she said.
"That's why I run classes for women of all fitness levels where they are all welcome to bring their children to the classes.
"These classes have slowly grown over the last five months so I've know taken on a qualified child minder and am offering free child minding so mum can put the babies aside and workout knowing bubs being looked after.”
Carly said the service gave mums peace of mind whilst also the opportunity to workout.
"The youngest we've had looked after at the moment is eight weeks and they're quite content to just sit in the pram while mum works out. And the oldest we've looked after is about two-and-a-half,” she said.
"We also have just introduced classes on a Saturday at the Mons Playgroup Centre so the kids can play in the playground which is fully-fenced and has massive shadey trees while mum trains.”
Carly said not only were her sessions a great way to get active, they were also a great social activity.
"For a lot of the mums, they're totally new and they've never worked out before now. This can help them feel healthier, get a bit stronger and is also a great platform for them to meet other likeminded mums. And all of the sessions are done outside which gets them out in the fresh air.”
