Moulin Rouge dancer home at Coast safe from Paris attacks

FORMER ironman Grant Kenny and his daughter Morgan have this morning watched in shock from the Sunshine Coast the horrific news coming from attacks on Paris.

More than 100 people have been reported killed in explosions and shootings in various locations in the French capital.

Morgan, who grew up on the Sunshine Coast, had lived in Paris and worked as a dancer at the Moulin Rouge.

Mr Kenny said she had been in Paris for rehearsals about a month ago but was now back in Queensland.

"She's already checked and all of her friends over there are safe," Mr Kenny said.

He said none of the attacks had happened where his daughter was in Paris although one of them had occurred near where she used to live.

"She is just shocked like everybody."

Mr Kenny noted the global effect of terrorism, with recent examples in Beirut and Egypt.

"Their reach is broad sadly."
