Moses gets the call up from Maroons
FORMER Noosa Pirate Moses Mbye isn't getting carried away, despite being one step closer to his boyhood dream.
The 22-year-old has been rewarded for his head turning breakout 2015 NRL season by being named in the Emerging Maroons squad.
Mbye was a regular starter for the Canterbury Bulldogs after kicking a match-winning field goal in golden-point extra against Wests Tigers in round four.
The flexible young-gun said he wasn't getting ahead of himself, but he was excited at the prospect working with newly appointed Queensland coach Kevin Walters.
"I'm excited to see him again after training under him in the Queensland under-20s," Mbye said.
"We're off to Brisbane soon four a couple days to get a few words of wisdom and see what the Queensland boys are about.
"It's pretty special, it's any young Queenslander's dream to put on a Maroons jersey and I'm one step closer.
"But I'll just have to wait and see, you never know what's going to happen."
He is still yet to re-sign with the Bulldogs after contract talks stalled in 2015, but Mbye is confident things will work out.
"It's still in the pipeline for 2016, but it will be finalised quite soon.
"I'll hopefully sign with the Bulldogs or somewhere else.
"We've got a good bunch of boys and we're excited for 2016."
