Matilda The Musical showcases young Coast actor

OUR own Eva Murawski opened Australia's favourite musical in front of the first Brisbane preview audience last week.

Following a sell-out 35-week run at Melbourne's Princess Theatre, Matilda the Musical will continue at QPAC until February 12 next year.

The most-awarded musical production in Australia's history, Matilda has won 13 Helpmann Awards from 13 nominations.

Inspired by the genius of Roald Dahl, with a book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda The Musical is the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.

Eva, who shares the character's confidence, intelligence and amazing energy, is a student of Buderim Youth Theatre of Excellence.

BATS Theatre Company will present Ellyn Williams' thriller Night Must Fall in March next year.

Directed by David Wilson, this is a gripping murder mystery with delightfully dark characters.

In this classic psychological study of a murderer, a violently deranged man enters the household of a miserly invalid.

Mrs Bramson's household contains some delightful and gullible characters including the maid, the nurse, the cook, and the niece and her fiancé.

An information night is on Tuesday at 7.30pm, downstairs in the club room at Buderim War Memorial Hall. Auditions are on December 13 at 7.30pm at the hall.
