Maroochydore woman takes shot at Miss Universe title
MAROOCHYDORE woman Samantha Roberts has been named among 24 finalists in the Queensland State Final for Miss Universe Australia.
Ms Roberts is the only finalist in the state competition not from either Brisbane or the Gold Coast.

Event organisers say she and the other finalists have spent the past few weeks together preparing for the state finals, which will be held at Eagle Street Pier on June 19, with support from former Miss Universe Australia Jesinta Campbell.
The finalists had been going through a training schedule that included, among other things, hair and makeup workshops, health and fitness, social and business etiquette, public speaking practice, and catwalk lessons.

The competition offered finalists thousands of dollars in prizes, such as luggage from Antler, teething whitening with Pure Smile, tanning packages from Bondi Sands, Uggs from Shearers Uggs, makeup products and gifts from Bodyography, luxurious skin care products from Cienca8, and a beautiful $10,000 Zenith watch.
