Former Scorchers skipper gets representative call up
CRICKET: Former Sunshine Coast Scorchers skipper Sam Northeast will be given the opportunity to press his claims for England one-day selection in March.
The Kent batsman will line up for South (England) in a representative match against North to be played in Abu Dhabi in March.
He joins the likes of test match cricketer Steven Finn in the side.
Northeast played under-19s for England and was considered to be one of the brightest junior prospects in the country.
In two seasons for the Scorchers, Northeast scored two centuries and a handful of 50s across all three forms of the game.
