Lamkin Lane takes on purple tinge

Four acts performing at Lamkin Lane Live at Caloundra tonight, Friday, April 29, have each been invited to perform a Prince song in tribute to the late artist.

Lamkin Lane Live is a laneway festival organised by the Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance in collaboration with the Paisley Park Project, an upcoming redevelopment by Wane Moore and Anna Honders in Lamkin Lane.

The Paisley Park Project was so-named because Ms Honders is a fan of Prince, whose home in Minessota was named Paisley Park.

Megan and the Achilles, Stellarize, Hoo8hoo, Craig Madden will present their interpretations of songs by the innovative singer, songwriter, musician, producer and actor at tonight's event.

The mini-festival will also feature pop up gallery of photographs and a short film by local artists and surf photographer Warwick Gow.

Street food and pop-up cash bar will also operate at the event, which will run from 5pm until late at Lamkin Lane and Village Way.

Entry is by $2 donation to the Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance.
