Hundreds rally in search for family's lost dog
A LOST dog is bringing hundreds of people on the Sunshine Coast together as they search for a 17-year-old golden retriever that wandered off from her Currimundi home on Christmas day.
Gillian Fawdray has been appealing for help from the community to help find Molly, who is blind and deaf, going so far as to start a special Facebook group, called Help Find Molly, to coordinate the search.
A post put on the Sunny Coast Community Board on Tuesday has, as of this morning, been shared 860 times, has 255 likes, and 167 comments, some even saying they had launched their own search parties around Currimundi to look for Molly.
In the community board post, Ms Fawdray says her family fears the worst for their beloved pet.
"We are very concerned as she is blind and deaf, and may be disoriented, injured or dead," she says.
"Urging locals to check under decks, houses, cars, behind sheds, in bushes etc in case she has curled up somewhere to pass away."
Some of the help the family has received included helping distribute flyers around Currimundi, as well as getting out and physically searching for the lost dog.
Ms Fawdray says their is a reward for finding Molly. Anyone with information should phone Brad on 0418 728 314.
