Gowrie One-Stop shop thief faced court on 29 offences
GABRIELLA-BEATRICE Arce received a four-month suspended jail sentence for her part in a smash-and-grab at the Gowrie One-Stop shop.
The Toowoomba Magistrates Court heard the 20-year-old woman was one of four people who forced entry to the store and stole items.
Arce was arrested a short time later when an off-duty police officer saw her exit a stolen vehicle used in the break-in.
Her lawyer, Patrick O’Donnell, asked for mercy, saying Arce was in the depths of drug addiction. Arce pleaded guilty to enter premises with intent, along with 29 lesser charges.
Magistrate Kay Ryan ordered a four-month jail sentence to be suspended for two years for the October 7 break-in and a two-year probation order for the other offences.
Arce had served 58 days in pre-sentence custody.
