First stage of airport expansion partner search wraps up
THE IDENTITY of a financial partner in the $347 million Sunshine Coast Airport expansion is a step closer to being revealed after the expression of interest process ended.
Assessment will be undertaken over the next few weeks but a final decision and confirmation of a preferred partner was not expected until late-2016, a Sunshine Coast Council spokeswoman confirmed.
The Australian Financial Review speculated on Wednesday a number of infrastructure funds, including AMP Capital, Palisade Investment Partners and Colonial First State and Infrastructure Capital Group were among those to have expressed interest, but identities of interested parties were unable to be verified by the council spokeswoman.
The spokeswoman confirmed a probity advisor in Argyle Corporate Advisers had been appointed by the council to provide independent overview of the expansion funding strategy.
Fairfax MP Ted O’Brien has given himself three weeks post-election to have a Federal EIS review finalised.
