Fire breaks in Coast home, another destroys hinterland shed

BREAKING: A blaze that broke out in a Sunshine Coast home has been contained to one bedroom. 

Emergency services were called to Maplespring St, Sippy Downs, just before 1pm where a fire had broken out in a bedroom wardrobe in a single-storey home. 

Power to the building was cut and firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the bedroom. 

Meanwhile in the Noosa hinterland a shed has been destroyed by fire. 

A blaze ripped through the 20x20m shed at Black Mountain, about 30km west of Noosa. 

The structure was separated from a house, which was not damaged, and there the fire is not posing a threat to other properties at this stage. 

EARLIER: A blaze has ripped through a shed at a Noosa hinterland property, completely destroying it. 

Firefighters are working to extinguish flames still burning in the wreckage of the 20x20 metre shed at Black Mountain, about 30km west of Noosa Heads. 

A spokesman for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said there was a lot of black smoke in the area on Black Mountain Rd. 

The structure was separated from a house, which was not damaged, and there the fire is not posing a threat to other properties at this stage.
