Defender to miss Matildas matches through injury
FOOTBALL: Tewantin's Larissa Crummer has been ruled out of Australia's matches against Chile through injury and her club coach hopes she'll be back in action relatively soon.
The 22-year-old will miss the clashes at Penrith and Newcastle on Saturday and Tuesday.
The attacker turned defender aggravated a leg complaint during her debut for the Newcastle Jets last Thursday, when beaten 2-1 by Melbourne Victory in round two of the W-League.
It's hoped she'll be back for their next match.
"Larissa's injury isn't serious, it's a quad strain which she picked up with the Matildas back in early October and twinged again at the weekend,” Newcastle coach Craig Deans said via the club website.
"She'll be better for the weekend off and hopefully back for our first home game against Canberra on 17 November.”
Crummer impressed for the Jets in her first outing.
The competition's former Golden Boot recipient with Melbourne City showed promising signs in the back-line.
