Coolum karate tournament ready to kick off

SHOTOKAN Karate Sunshine Coast is holding its annual Karate tournament on Saturday at the Coolum State School multi-purpose complex.

About 120 competitors from across south east Queensland will compete in Kata (pattern) and Kumite (sparring).

Coast Aikijutsu master Jeff Previti will give a spectacular demonstration at lunchtime.

Kata competition is in the morning and Kumite in the afternoon.

Shotokan Karate Sunshine Coast has been based in Coolum for over 15 years.

Doors open at 9am and spectators are welcome to attend for free.
