Coast sailors can reflect on results in great race

SAILING: With the Sydney to Hobart Yacht race completed, the selection of Sunshine Coast sailors who competed now know exactly where they finished on handicap.

Alive, with navigator David Turton and fellow Coasters Andy Turton and Stacey Jackson, was eighth in the race for line honours and 17th on handicap.

Ragamuffin, with Ashley Deeks, was 19th (50th).

Black Sheep, with Andrew Scott, was 38th (19th).

Bravo, owned and skippered by Robert Robertson, was 42nd (14th), winning division three.

Quest, with Coasters Milton Hampe and Ian and Sam Coward aboard, was 53rd (53rd),

They were the last of the locals to complete the race on Thursday night, finishing in 3days5hrs53min22sec, more than a day-and-a-half behind line honours victor Perpetual Loyal.

Patrice, with Jason Rowed, was retired midrace.

There were 88 starters.

Giacomo won handicap honours.
