A Day To Remember .... Cherish your kids

I HAD two sick (with the flu) kids at home and a list of literally 22 things I have to do.
I was feeling a bit annoyed knowing that my list of jobs will have to wait until tomorrow and it will set me back all week.
Anyway, still feeling slightly annoyed and stressed that I wouldn't get any work done, I took the boys to Bribie for a slow walk and a dip in the ocean in the hope that it would cheer them up a bit.
It's funny how the world works……
We chose a different swimming spot and we came across this sign and box of toys.
It reads: "Please take a toy to enjoy with your child at the beach and replace it when you have finished for others to use.
I have donated this basket of sand toys in honour of Noah and his bereaved mother, to remind us of how precious time with our children is.
I hope you and your child remember the smiles, laughter and conversations during your play at the beach and that these memories last a lifetime. "
With tears in my eyes, I needed to be reminded of this today. Instead of feeling annoyed about my to-do-list, I am feeling grateful. I hugged my boys and told them how much I loved them.
The 'to do' list for the day has changed to - Just be in the moment and cherish this moment.
A day I thought I'd want to forget has delivered a message that I will always remember.
To Angel Noah's Mother,
I am deeply sorry for your loss and we thank you for this wonderful gift of reminding us to live in and cherish these special moments.
